Seeing the Small Things

I sat on the beach, working,

Laptop focused all day.

An easy place to work,

So my son could still play.

My computer suddenly died!

It was so frustrating!

I needed to finish my work,

No time for hesitating.

As the sun began to set,

The air became soothing.

The sounds of the waves,

Were capturing and moving.

My son was building sand castles,

Appearing so happy and bliss.

My anger diminished,

I realized what I had missed.

Too often I had become absorbed

By life, destination, & demand.

Shooting for the sky,

Too busy to look at the land.

I felt abruptly endured,

Absorbed by the epiphany.

I had to take a moment,

Just listened to the ocean's symphony.

Goals were important,

But what about now?

Living in the moment,

But not really living in it, HOW?!
