Season Shift.

🤍

Summer melts like sorbet into autumn -

Leaves wither under the weight of the wind.

Resting at the trunk base in memoriam,

A lament for the youth of sun, entwined,

= == = = == = == = = = = == = == = = = =

Another past has flittered softly by,

Days of freedom pile lifelessly - still.

The final chapter lingers, ever nigh -

As worn out eyes fade and memories swill.

= == = = == = == = = = = == = == = = = =

The golden hues of forgotten lovers.

Mix with a blushing flush of excitement.

A bygone life sleeps beneath the covers.

A winter’s tale of a sad indictment.

= == = = == = == = = = = == = == = = = =

Just to be amidst summers gone again,

The sand between my toes in sweet disdain.
