A HUMOROUS TAKE ON A RECENT INJURY CAUSING MY ALREADY BIG RIGHT FOOT AND ANKLE TO SWELL-WRITTEN IN A SERIES OF LIMERICKS

One frosty February on ice I slide-

To hospital, the ambulance I ride.

Two broken bones detected,

Some surgery expected

With metal plates and screws sewn inside.

My "bionic ankle"

My big men's size 13 foot is swollen

So my mobility has been stolen.

Quest for 14 4E

Becomes my new story.

A trip to the mall, in wheelchair rollin.'

My new men's size 14 4E sneakers to accommodate my swollen ankle

Oversized compression socks must be found-

Soft work socks made in USA, shipped ground.

Stretching muscles in reps,

I take my baby steps,

But will Chinese nylon keep my feet bound?

Will this foot really fit into this sock???

Size fourteen sneakers must be angled,

Or my long legs become quite tangled,

Climbing into my Civic-

Average size motivic-

Amazonian woman mangled!

Angling my legs and stiff right ankle to get into my Honda Civic!

My new gray sneakers look best with blue jeans.

Not for wedding dress by any means!

Invite me as your guest-

Exhaustive online quest,

Ending with glass slippers for drag queens!

E-bay site for drag queen shoes with note "runs small"

My nephew Nick sought his family tree

Seeking Welsh, Italian, and Cherokee.

But, on my watch,

I find Sasquatch

More relevant than any seed in me.
