The sun of the day.
The star at night.
A friend to marry, or a friend that’s hurt.
Red of love & laughter,
Purple of power & purpose.
Black with afros & fresh fades.
Orange of courage & compassion.
Down on one knee proposing to your lady to be.
Princess cut, ruby diamond, with a gold trim.
Happiness, no shenanigans just all great vibes.
Making promises that we would never leave, or our babies name would start with “E”.
When your affiliated and red is all you see.

The Longest Minute
A minute. Sixty seconds to say goodbye. That’s all the time that I had left with him as the needle slid into his leg. I stared into his drooping eyes, looked at the blood-tainted saliva dripping from the corner of his mouth. They said that this was the best thing that we could do for him, a last kind act for a best friend…but if that were the case, then why did my heart feel so heavy?
