Roots

Deep Connection

By Jessica TaylorPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Back to basics now;

This is what needs to be;

Slow breathing;

Steady thought.

Time with rhythm though I know not how

Pulsing, ever like a heartbeat;

Anxious thoughts seething

As peace is sought.

Plant thyself firm and strong;

Let the roots go wide and far;

Wild hearts within;

Fighting hard and true.

Ring out thy siren song;

Let them know who you are;

Let them feel your every sin

Burning from the depths of you.

Grow now ever higher;

Changing at your reasons;

Like the rocks under the tide;

Branch out to the horizon even still.

Become that to which you aspire;

Flow with each of the seasons;

Spread those wings ever so wide

Let go your wings of powerful will.

You, yourself are your own;

Colorful and soulful each day;

Inspire change as you pass through the storm;

Every tide, every life, every day Make your sound

Make yourself forever known

As you dig deep in your own way

Go now above the norm

plant your roots to that ground.

About the Creator

Jessica Taylor

My deepest desire is to be able to help people; since I am too shy to be a professional speaker I decided that writing is my next best option. However, I do love the feel of the pen upon the page and the clicking of my keys on my keyboard.
