I’m not romantic you say

But I am

It’s just in my own way

Growing up learning to show as little emotion as possible

Hard to express myself sometimes

That’s why it’s often easier to write little rhymes

Little boys filled with thoughts of being heroic

Introduced to the idea of always being stoic

Taught that emotion is weakness

When all she wants is for you to show it

Share your inner thoughts

Scream it from the mountain top

Let her know she’s more than a place to rest yourself

That you see her inner Athena, not just her Venus
