childhood felt like

Water damp, shaking drops from hair,

Emerged from the River to sunbathe rocks.

Watching paper boats float to paper docks.

Hear the frogs calling from a muddy lair.

Skipping stones jump gives the fish a scare.

Spinning circles downstream baby duck flocks.

From grassy shore time slows, forgotten are clocks.

Lean back, take a moment, find the clouds and stare.

Warm afternoon gives way to fall of night.

Gather wood and sticks. Gather friends around.

Evening filled with smoke and fire light.

Sunset air brings a laughter sound.

Glowing sparks, create smiles, a pleasant sight.

River side made s’mores. Serenity found.
