The Clock Ticks On

In the hush of pre-dawn's gentle grace,

Whispers stir the silent space.

Anxious hearts beat fast and wild,

Each awaiting fate's decree, reconciled.

Pages turned, nights surrendered to study,

Minds raced through books, befriended by the worry.

Questions danced like shadows in the flame,

Answers forged in the fires of the game.

Now the day arrives on quiet feet,

A blend of hope and fear, bitter and sweet.

The clock, relentless, ticks its tune,

Time stretches thin, it’s almost noon.

With every tick, the moment nears,

Eyes flicker 'neath the weight of years.

The envelope thin, yet heavy as stone,

Holds the verdict in its bone.

Breaths held tight, a pause in life,

The slice of a moment, sharp as a knife.

Then, a burst, a flood, emotions spill,

Dreams met or paused, at fate's own will.

For some, a leap towards skies so wide,

For others, a quieter path to bide.

Yet each mark, each grade, each score assigned,

Is but a step, not the sum, of the mind.

In the aftermath, the lesson clear:

Growth found not in joy or fear,

But in the courage to face each test—

To strive, to falter, then rise with zest.

Results day, thus, in its core,

Teaches more than numbers bore.

It's life's way to gently say,

Onwards we go, come what may.
