Remember me Mindlessly,

triggered by a memory of something simple like the scent of honeysuckles and morning glories.

Remember me Spiritually,

guided by our curiosity and the need to know what else lived beyond the stars as if dancing between them wasn't enough... I wish we stayed in that space a little longer. Where this thing called time didn't exist and the worry of your disappearance was never a possibility because the force of our energies was too vibrant to miss.

Remember me...

Look into these eyes and remember what it felt like to be seen. Because with all the lifetimes I've lived and all that I've lost, your eyes held something within I knew I'd never forget.

Remember Me...

Close your eyes and relive our memories. Dancing beneath willow trees with wisteria amethyst vines along the fence line and your smile towards the sun. Fill your lungs with my scent and remember how close our bodies craved to remain just as they were.

Remember Me...

Effortlessly...

The way Earth remembers its rebirth between seasons or how the moon knows to return at night and control the tides. Or how caterpillars remember how to change beneath the sun and form wings so beautifully it stops all in amazement.

... Feel my absence and remember me.

Meditate until my smile becomes so clear you open your eyes and gasp because without warning the butterflies in your stomach return more powerful than they've ever felt.

Experience that spot of absence and allow it to be scary, allow it to cause your heart to race; for tears to fall, and for your breathing to become erratic just to turn into laughs. Don't mourn my absence, feel my presence and follow the pull of my energy.

Remember Me...

Remember our voices together and how we'd choose the sound of us over the radio and the sound of rain over the television. Remember how we chose conversation instead of sleep and how we refused to rest if it wasn't together because we understood how fradgile this life was. Remember that our promises weren't made with our pinkies but with our ring fingers so that the promise led straight to our hearts.

And it wasn't about being obsessed. We found joy in each other's presence because, for the first time in centuries, we weren't overlooked but heard. We weren't two separate heartbeats but one and feared that if one was without the other then one would surely stop and it was that fear of absence that caused our fingers to intertwine a little longer than most. It caused our arms to wrap around each other a little tighter than most because we had to prove to the universe that not even wind could stand between us.

Because our love was beyond existence or a simple sentence.

Our love was ...

Mindless ... Spiritual... and Effortless
