RAILYARD ODE

Skeleton remains..

You are a promenade in decline.

Stand in blind obeisance

To that which came before,

To the glory, to the days of nevermore!

O' marvelous magnificence!

My Monument...

So mighty in concealed ambition!

Your rendition...

Did not account for time,

Traitor to us all!

Marvel of the mundane,

You stand between past and present,

A symbol of the arcane!

Your quiet solitude glowers..

Through the shatter of broken windows,

I see the darkness of your soul there where it cowers..

Not in fear,

In the amazement of the mighty!

Here I sit, gazing up at you,

Your sullen unmoving stare looks back at me..

Handsome you were built!

Awe-inspiring in your decay!

Though we gape at one another,

There is naught but silence..

Bid you adieu, I do..

Let there pass another day,

With hanging head,

I walk away!
