"SIP"
Run with me away,
To a world of tangueray
Mesopotamian imaginings where clouds are permanent display
And above the city floats.
Savor the opulence, the experience
In a holiday, a dalliance,
A romance taken from a book.
Reimagine, bring to reality the physicality
Of this residence, of houses so white, they bleach the sun,
These village streets, our hearts will run,
From banal normalities..
We lose ourselves in the beauty of strange localities
Only the eyes can appreciate how the soul it does ameliorate!
Run with me...or walk, matters not!
Just don't stare, that's rude!
Gaze instead, slow, deliberate..
Drink it in to souls content,
The scenery, the greenery and off in distance...
A winery..
A salve for days too long,
A sip, a taste, can't be wrong.
Then when the sun begins to sink,
When the sun is horizon low,
The gulls settle on docks below,
They've bedded for the night,
We'll drink a toast to God's delight!
For isn't this a prayer's answer?
To be in no man's land,
Take temporary recompense for all the work you've put in since...
Well...since forever!
Come,
Knowing where we went,
In this glorious day well spent,
The sun takes solace, takes its light,
Gives sweet kiss to land goodnight!
