Pterodactyl

Flying lizard of delight

Oh, pterodactyl on the wing,

To see you soar makes my heart sing.

Though not a dinosaur as such,

Your graceful form I love so much.

Ever present in monster movies

Like 10,000 BC, your presence proves these

Representations of dino psyche

Are miles away from the image that could be

Seen if only we looked more closely

At what you were surely like in reality.
