Procrastination Is Not My Destination...
A Poem
Procrastination is not my destination...
Procrastination was my destination...
I was my own worst enemy.
Waiting forever for the right time...
When I had it already in front of me.
I was a contradiction with my belief of fiction...
But I was unable to see.
For I had never found a sound that rang true...
That rang true Inside of me.
And then without warning I heard the calling.
Like the sun rising on a dark winter morning.
My spirit was lifted like never before.
In this Epiphany I realised I could achieve so much more.
I had wasted opportunity and failed to seize my days
When for so long ‘Carpe Diem’ was all that led my way.
I had my head in the clouds always stubborn and proud.
With my open mind becoming narrowed and bound.
I now feel kind of strange but I know it’s time for a change.
As my faith and understanding grows deeper and strong...
I know this is the beginning of something special...
And time waits for no man so it is time to move on.
As I walk on with a smile, I have no sorrow.
For I am wise in knowledge...
To learn from yesterday, to live for today.
But to hope for tomorrow.

I have been writing Poetry since I was a teenager. Now in my late thirties I enjoy it more than ever. I find it a wonderful release and it helps me to free my mind and understand myself and my emotions.
