Precious Pause With Poppers

And All My Spare Parts

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 9 months ago 1 min read

Salty goodbye kisses, as tears linger, puddled, in my eyes

Falling down like summer rains at the thought of your demise

The haunting look of death, rest’s waiting on your every breath

I search helplessly to find a rhythmic beating in your chest

Father daughter kisses, reassurances of love

Knowing that kind of love, will continue up above

The fragile frail heart breaks, at the shattering of life

Escaping to the void into the dark secrets of night

The thought of letting go completely chills me to my core

I want to start again, I need to love you more

But the clock has run it course

And the ticking hands have stopped

No time for my remorse

Life’s final gavel, has been dropped

So, I will kiss your brow, and gently touch your face

I will see you again, another time, another place

“ I will see you again, another time, another place” I feel, know, your heart, and it breaks mine to realize your loss Kelli. 🥰. Yet, we have hope!! ❤️
