This short poem is inspired by a poem of Amrita Pritam, a renowned Hindi and Punjabi poet, novelist and essayist. She remained an inspiration to generations. The partition of the Indian Subcontinent was the central theme of her works. Her works are considered a collective memory for both sides of the border. The power of her storytelling was incredible.
