I.

There’s a polar bear living in my freezer,
and while he seems like a reasonable geezer,
Quite how he got in -
though he’s terribly thin -
remains a baffling brain-teaser.

II.

I’m not quite sure how long he might linger
(already been here for most of the winter)
But I don’t mind he stays,
So long ‘he be’aves
and stops pinching me frozen fish fingers.

III.

You ask why did he first move there?
Well, it’s really a sorry affair -
Y’see his homeland had thawed,
so he swam from abroad
inspired by Paddington Bear.

IV.

I’ll admit the poor chaps does look worn
and a freezer’s quite far from his norm
but he’s nowhere to be
since he had to flee
the iceberg on which he was born.

V.

I opened the windows to let in a breeze;
reduced the heating by fifteen degrees;
but he returns there each night
to the freezer’s dim light
and sleeps on the petit pois peas.

That's it for today's lot. Come back tomorrow for more! If you enjoyed any of these, do me a favour and check out my latest competition entry: Dinner, 4AM. Thank you :)
