Point of No Return
As she leaves you in the past
She hides her sorrow in her broken heart,
Knowing you’ve past the point of no return,
She bleeds the last of her hope in a single breath,
Raw and vulnerable, you’ve left her to burn.
💔
She’ll bury her love for you deep within her soul,
Where she can no longer freely feel,
Destructively destroyed within your stubbornness,
She’ll harden her heart and wrap it in steel.
💔
Goodbyes are such a common occurrence in her life,
But you — well she was still struggling to understand,
Who are you? She doesn’t recognise the arrogance,
The cruelty, the idiocy, making you an unlikeable man.
💔
She now turns and walks away,
Her destination as far from your world as she can,
Still she wishes you happiness and peace,
But it’s here she needs to draw the line in the sand.
💔
Forgotten in her existence,
Pining for months on end,
Lost in the pain of losing
The one who once was her best friend.
💔
She’ll now bow out gracefully,
Dead to the possibility of any solution,
Forgiveness has past, never to be seen,
As she axes your very execution.
💔
Her days of regret have been resolved,
She lived her life for you, but now it’s her turn,
Farewell to her biggest disappointment,
You left her with a painful lesson to learn.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

If it wasn't for the line, "She lived her life for you," this would be completely relatable to me. Powerfully well written.
I hope she can live well, even with immeasurable heartbreak. 🤗
This was so sad and relatable. I'm so glad she's gonna live for herself now!
Heartbreaking!!! Eloquently written!!!❤️❤️💕
