She dances because she can

there are no judges there are no rules

no need to be graceful and

she can jump or flip her hair to what does it matter

nobody should even care.

the girl is happy and she laughs as she twirls

she could care less if people think of her as crazy

neither tall nor slender and eyes of brown not crystal blue,

with a bruise on her elbow and a cut on her knee

some people would think that she is not so pretty

for her hair is not wavy and her legs are stubby

the girl just dances and not for you to see

she does it for herself to feel the wind in her hair

her feet stomping and her blood pumping

there is no music playing she dances to her own beat

to me she is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen

she is poetry in motion oh what a sight to see.
