He caught me

*

Hair pulled back into a braid

Sweat dripping from my head

Feet crossed

Standing there

Playing with my hair

*

Eyes like glass

staring through a wall

into another dimension

An alternate timeline

where life was different

*

He approached me

from my periphery

Closing the portal

to the other world

I was brought back

to this reality

*

He asked,

"¿Como se dice 'poema' en Ingles?'

*

I said,

"Poem."

*

He replied,

"You are a poem."

*

My eyes changed hues

"¿Como?"

*

His eyes smiled

"Muchas maneras…"

"Tus ojos."

"Tus trenza."

"Tus sonrisa."

"Tus presencia."

"Podría a escribir un libro sobre tus belleza."

"Eres un poema viviente."
