Chaos rules the world

When all you have ever known is chaos.

When all you’ve ever known is a world upside down.

Full of small battles inside your head.

Self-hatred a ruler amongst tranquility.

Trials and tribulations too many to count.

Like suffocating under the impossible pressure.

Life’s wicked games.

Harsh realities like a razor’s edge.

Elegant falsehoods.

Lies like cheap whiskey burning going down.

Each broken relationship a reminder.

The excruciating pain a familiar friend.

Mistakes digging into you.

Like handcuffs placed upon your wrists.

Preconceived opinions painting a picture.

Each brush stroke like another push closer to the edge.

Peace feels foreign.
