This poem is dedicated to all the narcissistic fools I’ve met throughout my life who have made me the woman I am today. Thank you.

You drift upon the river in my veins,

pushed along effortlessly by heartbeats

keeping time

eternally

you will sail, coursing, undulating

with the beauty of the seasons, hot and cold,

forever cozy,

wrapped in yesterday.

*

Drowning in passion,

thriving on love-bites

you are forever in my blood.

*

Why must you destroy me?
