That summer when sun shed light on the grey

And love found its way through a brighter screen

We discovered means to pass time away

Days when wearing masks was the new routine

Activities outdoors were all the rage

New adventures were a tasks to embark

Resistant to being locked in our cage

We spilled out on trails, campgrounds, or a park

With great purpose, the world idly stood

All summoned dreams despite traumas we bore

Focused our thoughts upon the greater good

Though hearts bled wishing to hug those we cared for

From it we emerge, changed, deep and profound

With many new perspectives we found
