From darkness and void,
To a plentiful earth,
From the nothing came something,
Blues, greens and new birth.
____
Mammals of black,
Reptiles of gray,
Birds flying free
Through the white clouds of day
____
Then birthed a man
From the tanned dust of clay
From his side came a woman,
Isolation at bay
_______
Palettes of color
Brushed by the Light,
All hues of brown,
Dear in His sight
________
A shimmering serpent,
Vibrant, ablaze
Set a fruit before man,
Apprehending the gaze.
_________
A bite, then regret
Hiding in fear,
Hearing the Sculptor,
Close, drawing near
________
The Garden once perfect,
Now marred by shame,
Both pointing fingers
Casting off blame
________
From the Garden, evicted
The world turned to gray,
But grace still extended,
A glorious day.
