PAIN

I long to feel all my senses,

To endure all the pain life dispenses,

For numbness is worse than agony,

And pain leads to the ultimate ecstasy.

The pleasure of being alive,

The joy of feeling and being able to thrive,

To distinguish between the real and reel,

And to feel the depth of my soul's appeal.

To experience the love that runs deep,

And to find myself, my soul to keep,

To be at one with the universe,

And to feel life's every nuance and verse.

So let me feel the pain that comes my way,

For it is the path to a brighter day,

And I will emerge stronger and whole,

With a renewed spirit, heart, and soul.
