A message of momentary and social comparison

I love the books of others
But I would prefer we all
Could simply share the pages
And live in the same story
It takes some time
To develop a rhyme
And yet
It takes no time at all
To experience a fall
While standing tall
Believing yourself bigger
Than others
Some wouldn't understand
Why compare
When neither here nor there
Read what you like
Expect nothing but Self
Improvement
To some it's nothing
But what has been
May never show up again
And what could be
May never show up at all
Looking back
Distraction
Looking forward
Expectation
Not totally unnecessary
But destructive when
Dwelling elsewhere alone
Remaining present
Continues to be
The best medicine
For me
