Overthinking, Online

unfiltered hope, filtered into self-afflicted pain

I (think) like her …

How … why?

We don’t know each other

Just someone I follow

From a mutual connection

But no connection between us

A few likes and comments

Is that all it takes for me now?

...

Oh! They messaged me!

Not about me, a helpful piece of info for me

Pleasantries shared ... and that was it

So why did I message her again so soon?

I got too excited, thought something was happening

Thought that nothing was something

...

Four days later … no response

...

How’s the overthinking going?

...

Days pass, still overthinking

...

But why? Have I really done this?

Falling for someone so easy?

It’s like I want to be hurt again

But I don’t know

...

There’s a feeling, there’s …

Something

A feeling

A thought

This is not lust

This is not obsession

...

But what is it?

...

Why her?

Why feel this way?

Why so quick?

...

Her name captures my imagination

Her eyes steal my heart

Her personality spreads my smile

...

I cannot explain it, I cannot understand it

...

But I see a future there ...

I do see

A future

With … her
