Out of Tune

I’m out of tune,

with the tides and the moon.

Pegs wound so tight.

What if they snap?

I wonder in fright.

The violin gently cries,

In a somber, minor key.

It throws me off balance,

as I fall into the trees

My body works against me.

Pulling and jerking,

to where it wants me to be.

Lost in the deadlines

Crippled by expectations

Longing for the day my mind and body Intertwine.

To experience this divine syncopation.

My biological clock ticks.

But there is so much left to see and do.

As my body displays faulty signs,

It begins to remind me,

that it is almost my time.
