Our Democracy is in Danger

We are in a fragile state

Our Democracy could be lost

Our Democracy is in danger

By the outcome of autocratic strangers

We said it would never come apart

Condoned by media like Breitbart

Divisions are far and wide

One side has lost its pride

The other side wants to stop the divide.

Republicans don’t want to abide.

The rules of the election are fair

Challenge the election rule they dare

Audits and challenges are rare

They found that they had lost by more than a hair

Our Founding fathers meant our elections to be final

Not a political party's denial.

When you lose, you lose

It’s not your party’s place to choose.

If the people have spoken

That trust must not be broken

For a party that wants political power

Should never succeed and tower

Amongst the hopes and dreams of the people

Far outreach the length of a church steeple

Our Democracy is in need of defense

No need to play charades and form a pretense.

Our democracy is fragile

As our opponents are agile.

We need to save Democracy

Or we will have an Aristocracy.

We are the beacon of hope

We are riding a slippery slope.

As voting rules become harder

Manipulation becomes broader.

One party wants to stop our voices.

To stop our minds and our choices.

We need to stop them with our vote

Or America lies on a sinking float.

As a nation, we need to come together

Or lose our nation forever.

Our enemies laugh at our divide

As their nations grow big and wide.

We need to look at each other and stop

Our divisions are killing us, as we no longer are on top.

Nations ask if US Democracy is gone.

We need to stand together and say “no you are wrong”

Democracy is here to stay

Because it is the US Way.
