On Facing Dreams

And ever after

Is it so hard to go,

say goodbye once,

forever,

no regret or look back,

not wondering how life

will treat the soul you leave,

how waves will crash

when shelter goes,

when everything you've known

is changed

and darkened?

***

Ending one road,

talking to ghosts of what was

and will not

come back,

makes sorrow feel at home.

***

Don't let it dwell inside,

walls cannot be caressed

by cold wind

and despair.

Love doesn't wait in corners,

forlorn, forgotten

or deceived

step in the light, believe,

your home has fled with wind,

you stay

to make a bridge,

now comes back

on next breath

you're still the one,

before, lifetimes ago,

future begins

with magic butterflies

and making

one more wish.

***

A nightmare that grew wings

flew in the night

tears may fall with passing,

undone, untold dreams

that couldn't learn

how to sing,

the embers left behind

will make smile whole again,

it's not love lost,

it's grief,

not hate, but kindness

brings you back

from eternal

abyss.

***

In love with chance,

dancing a twilight step,

hearken the wind

be ready when it comes

it will alight but once,

do you dare to go on,

reach for next cloud

and wish,

no thoughts wasted on wails,

no butterfly that lost

its wings?

***

You carry dawn on shoulders

and the dream

that started long ago in smiles

is here,

in the wind,

it knocks on soul gate,

can you let it in,

will you hold onto love

within,

or let storm come inside

for feast

of hate and anger?

***

Wear smiles and dreams

on necklace of compassion,

nothing can stop you now,

thunder brings rain

of wishes,

look deep in fountain,

your smile calls you

again,

dive into land

of sunny dreams.
