Oh, Snap

A Shockingly Charged Poem

Oh, Snap

I’m on the run

Chasing the spark

When lightning comes

Flashes the dark

A subtle snap

Designed to shock

A gun with caps

Loaded and locked

A little pinch

A Tiny sting

Fashion will cringe

At static cling

The inner beast

Toasting the crumbs

I am the feast

My heart goes numb

Choosing candles

Ignore the sun

My hair shambles

At its ignition

A static charge

Forging ahead

Hairs on my arms

Raise like the dead

Out of the blue

Suddenly jumps

Without a clue

It starts me up

An arbitration

Between the charge

A strange sensation

From a small spark

The glow is hiding

Underneath

Dormant it lies

living rent free

Until the moment has arrived

The perfect storm

Coming alive

Surging from me

Finally free

A touch releasing

Electricity
