"Oh, Paramedic Woman"
~ Poem by Matthew Dickson, 2026

Paramedic woman, paramedic woman,
Oh, what you do to me,
Oh, what you do to me.
The first time I saw you,
My heart skipped a beat.
It was a Canadian summertime morning.
I had been shovelling snow too much, for too long.
The angels called you to my rescue.
And my life will never be the same.
My heart's aflutter,
Too much, though, you say.
It feels like it's going to beat right out of my chest.
Is this heartache?
Or is it heart attack?
We fly down the road, my destiny in distress.
Florence Nightingale has nothing on you.
You defibrillate me,
You defibrillate me.
Will I ever see you again?
Oh, Paramedic Woman,
Please rescue my heart.
