Oh my Darling,

What has happened here?

The light in your eyes has withered away

As picked roses do,

But likewise the beauty remains.

Your smile marvels more

Than a thousand sunrises ever could,

Yet the warmth seems to have been theft.

Oh my Love,

You're dropping with each tear

As the storms swell fast within your mind.

The pain growing in your chest clings on

As if a vine anchoring to every crevice.

But oh my Darling,

You are not the darkness

Which consumes you;

Your life is not the hurricane

Which has swept through for some time.

Flowers still bloom beneath your feet

And the sun still shines

Behind the storm that is surrounding.

Oh my Love,

If only I could prove to you

That love is never truly lost,

That the light which shines in your heart

Shines throughout eternity.

The strongest winds have taken to your soul

Yet here you stand before me.

Oh my Darling,

Do you remember what is here?

The blessed and the damned

All fall into the same pits and all rise

Into the same sky,

Each intertwined as the deepest roots

Under the forest floor.

You know too well of darkness,

But oh my Darling,

You are love.
