Ode to my Grandma

For my nana

You lived a life that most would envy

Your loving arms were never empty

With constant humour and tender smiles

For you I would run for miles.

Like a comets tail leaving its mark

You left an impression – even in the dark

And although your absence has its pain

We cannot remain out in the rain.

Because it is the love that you would bring

That wiped the tears from evil things

You were more than just another face

You were our mother – and you hold a special place

A place within our hearts and there you’ll stay

But for now enjoy every single day

For we know that in paradise you’re not alone

With past family beside you – I’m sure your smile has grown.

We will see you again our sweet white dove

Until then – we will always remember your love.
