It isn’t a fairytale or a storybook,
It doesn’t always come easy.
Don’t look for a partner who is eye candy,
Look for a partner who is soul food.
When the love of your life is super handy,
Don’t ever feel that your life is being misconstrued.
Love is overcoming obstacles,
Facing Challenges,
Speaking the same languages,
Fighting to be together,
Holding on and never letting go.
It is a short word,
Easy to spell,
Difficult to define,
Impossible to live without.
Love is work

Love is realizing that every hour,
every minute, and every second
was worth it because you did it together.
Before I met the love of my life,
I never knew what it was like,
To be able to look at someone
And smile for no reason.
I love you, after all this time
I still love you.
It’s always been you.
It was you yesterday.
It was you today.
It will be you tomorrow.
It will be you for the rest of my life.
It will always love you forever and for always.
You are the best thing I never planned.
I love you not only for who you are but
For who I am when I’m with you.
