Not Ordinary: A Love

A Love

Our love's not a sonnet, a rhyme neatly bound,

No damsel in distress, no knight to be found.

It skips the clichés, the roses and doves,

A symphony dissonant, played out in rough gloves.

We met in the discord, a clash and a spark,

Two minds set on fire, leaving their usual mark.

Debate raged like thunder, sparks flew in the air,

Opposites attracted, a love we couldn't bear…

To deny. We fought for our corners, convictions held tight,

Yet, in the heat of battle, bloomed a strange, flickering light.

Respect, grudging at first, for the strength in your gaze,

The way your voice, though harsh, held truths in a maze.

We learned, not to agree, but to see from each side,

To navigate differences, a wild, bumpy ride.

Sarcasm our language, a comfort we found,

A love built on challenge, a love that resounds.

Your silence, a puzzle I yearn to unlock,

My chaos, a tempest you somehow can block.

We fit not like pieces, but dance in a whirl,

Two souls intertwined, a beautiful, crazy swirl.

Candlelit dinners? Not quite our domain,

Our dates filled with debates, with logic's sharp reign.

We conquer the world, with ideas as swords,

Building empires of knowledge, defying life's cords.

We laugh at the mundane, the predictable script,

Our love story unfolds, a messy, imperfect flip.

We chase late-night deadlines, fueled by coffee's warm kiss,

Sharing a knowing smile, in moments of bliss.

Our passion ignites not with whispers and sighs,

But in heated discussions, where truth brightly flies.

We challenge and push, refusing to settle,

Growing together, two souls never brittle.

Jealousy? Not a concept our love can embrace,

For trust is the fortress, a sacred space.

We celebrate victories, each other's own light,

Two flames burning brighter, banishing endless night.

The world may not understand, this love so unique,

A tapestry woven with threads both rough and sleek.

But in the quiet moments, when the battles subside,

A tenderness blossoms, a love we can't hide.

In your eyes, I see not a lover possessed,

But a partner, a confidant, forever my best.

Your hand in mine, a comfort unspoken it brings,

A silent promise, through life's ever-changing things.

We may not be sunshine, a picture-perfect scene,

But a storm that clears skies, a force vibrant and keen.

Our love's not a fairytale, with happily ever after,

It's a constant adventure, a passionate laughter.

So let the world whisper, judge with their narrow gaze,

Our love is a wild thing, a love that amazes.

No ordinary sonnet, no damsel, no knight,

Just two souls entwined, bathed in love's brilliant light.
