No Intentions

the light falls on your skin

so eloquently

without words I am heard

as a smile crosses your face

a soft smile

without malice or intent

and I can tell that you consent

to the moment

You move forward

slowly, gently

paving the way of union

and I allow you to crest your arms

over my back

two warm spots

in a world that has been cold lately

the connection

complex and calming

as our lips touch

meeting for an unintended dance

and the commencement

of the night

as it is taking flight

before our eyes

makes my mind

drift away

love poems
