nature vs nurture

unnatural selection

I'm a lonely island

drowning on dry land

know only how to conceal

can you show me how to feel?

I'm the force of a hurricane

the saddest drizzle of rain

radiant light from above

a lousy puddle of mud

I'm caught in the current

this can't be unlearnt

It’s how I'll always be

a strong raging sea

or a tremoring leaf,

a neglected coral reef

darling

there's a big storm coming

and I'm already running

I'll disappear into the dusk

now that I've felt your touch

I think I'm scared of love

what am I void of?

unable to trust

covered in rust

leave if you must

a sun hidden in shadow

the last phase of the moon

a long forgotten meadow

facing an end too soon

About the Creator

nathaney

I'm an optimistic nihilist comforted by collectivism, in a world worshipping rugged individualism.

I have no idea what I'm doing here,

or in general.
