My Truth

Poem

By Paul CrockerPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

There are many things the world claims as fact.

We are told how to act.

It is full of promises and ideas.

That only leads to pain and fears.

But my truth is to not follow the crowd.

My spirit says it is not allowed.

Some people claim things that are false.

Yet it isn't always their fault.

They follow an endless circle of lies.

That blinds their very eyes.

But my truth is to do some research.

Not join the rest on the end of the perch.

Characters are created as people's masquerade.

Because they don't like the way they are made.

Now I'm not perfect by any stretch of the imagination.

But I accept what I've got and am grateful for its creation.

My truth is to be humble and individual.

Knowing that it will remain residual.
