My tongue sings of you, my love.

Though years since we first met at the college party,

I remember as if it was yesterday.

*

We were both flying high,

Competing for a non-existent life-of-the-party award.

I was dancing with anyone willing

And you were kissing anyone who held still.

*

It took us until the end of the party to connect.

I felt fireworks I had never experienced.

So much time passed.

We were inseparable...

Until I learned

You were no more.

*

Now, my tongue sings of you, my love.

The life of you

And the loss of you.

Until we meet again,

I sing.
