My Heartaching Sanity

A poem about regret

It’s crazy what people say about you

Once your reputation is gone

But the worst crazy of all

Is the one next to you at night

He eats at your soul

And he eats at your sanity

But you love him

You do

You love him

I do

Oh heavens

How to escape this madness

You happiness depends

On your next choice in words

Your life is happy

Your life is bruised

Your life elated

Your life is deflated

You run for days

You crash for nights

But at night

He is there

Seeping into your cells

Screaming into your dreams

HELP I scream

But to no avail

For he is there

Clawing into your sanity

He’s in my bed

He’s in my heart

He’s in my doom

He’s in my ending

He wants to me to carry

Carry many a thing for him

A ring

A child

A household

But is it too much to bear

He cries

He lies

He hides

He confides

But in the end

It’s all too much

Oh how I just want

For it all to end

Goodbye all

Goodbye my love

Goodbye my sanity
