Every once in a while,
I retreat
To a place in my mind
I call
My happy place …
There are no worries,
No stress.
Every once in a while,
I escape
To a place in my mind
Where I find
Peace.
Every once in a while,
I feel the
Exuberance
Of finding my happy place.
It is here in my happy place,
I am free …
From society’s chatter,
Patriarchal balderdash,
And inner turmoil.
My happy place is a
Sanctum,
A refuge.
It is a place
Where I regroup,
And strengthen myself
To fight another day!
Oh what a feeling
it is,
to rest awhile
In my happy place,
My nirvana.
