My Church

You know who you are...

The smell of wood and green

The scent of oats and molasses

The hint of leather and tobacco

The aroma of love

Touch the earth with spiritual thunder

Idle chatter turns voice to friendship

Ice and rain make folly for swearing

A summer sunset signs the close of a good day

A pre-dawn rise accented by the strike of a metal shoe

The daily grind

The best part

Frustration turns to joy and camaraderie

Excitement spells a favorite color in satin

Success is punctuated by white foam and sweat

The best moment

Quiet

The sound of breath

A lowered head

Eye to eye

Only worshippers know this sound

Gentle chewing before sunrise

Late at night under stars

The feel of soft ears

Or pudding eyes

The velvet of a muzzle

The distress of final days

A last breath

The sadness of goodbye

The joy of connection

Hard, physical, emotional

Simple, love, attachment

Spiritual glue

Miraculous moments

This is my Sunday
