my calling

(but who will love me?)

By Sara Published 11 months ago 1 min read

it is on nights like this

when i hold another

broken heart

in my arms

that i think my calling

will forever be

in the back of a dark alley

on a sidewalk stoop

arm full of bracelets

from people whose names

i do not know

probably smoking

in a leather jacket

with another pair of blank eyes

staring into mine

his hands digging into my thighs.

he will suck my body cold

and collapse into me

and i will lick the tears

off his beautiful face.

i was created

to keep broken boys

off the streets

and out of trouble.

but who will love me?
