Mrs Marigold

By Maisara Syed

By Maisara SyedPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

The sun bowed and lay a kiss,

On the meadows that brought bliss.

Walking softly through the velvet grass,

We saw that nothing was as beautiful,

And no scent comparable,

To the musky aroma of green apples.

The long grass swayed at us,

Cherry blossoms exploded into the clouds.

We stood ignoring it all.

Strangers, oblivious to the gift of nature.

Now, I sit here starstruck,

In awe of how I fell in love that day.

I feel trickles of water down my skin,

Love was a sweet summer rain that refreshed us.

A thousand travellers may come,

Praising the fields of Sunnyside.

But only I have been touched,

With the blessing of sweet, sweet Marigold.
