I force my eyes to stay open

In hopes that through my blurry vision

I may see an image of the future

A hint of foresight so that I may act in confidence

I crave the safety that is absolution

I fear that with every piece of knowledge gained

I lose the ability to to be self aware for a moment

It is as if in the moment of enlightenment

I forget that I am both nowhere closer to the truth than I was before

But I have added to the whole nevertheless

In learning something new

I am placed in a mindset of progression that blinds me to the reality of revelations

It is a constant battle between the self that is thinking and the self that experiencing
