I force my eyes to stay open
In hopes that through my blurry vision
I may see an image of the future
A hint of foresight so that I may act in confidence
I crave the safety that is absolution
I fear that with every piece of knowledge gained
I lose the ability to to be self aware for a moment
It is as if in the moment of enlightenment
I forget that I am both nowhere closer to the truth than I was before
But I have added to the whole nevertheless
In learning something new
I am placed in a mindset of progression that blinds me to the reality of revelations
It is a constant battle between the self that is thinking and the self that experiencing
