Misguided Passengers

… all at sea

Without map or reference to guiding stars

these passengers are prone to course deception.

Lost and found, between all the nears and fars,

they resort to zones of blind exception

.

where they hone beliefs of rough contention;

crudely pretending some moral code;

making light of custom's tough convention;

as coarse as gravel on a silken road.

.

Through the halls of time their voices echo

in concert with a scornful, raucous, score

that would have them mimic and worse more throw

themselves to a cause beyond the rule of law.

.

These misguided passengers, all at sea,

would sink their ship for sake of lunacy.

.

About the Creator

Tim Grace

A first impression has a lasting effect - it makes a notable difference. In a subtle way that’s who I am as a poet. A ‘first impression’ looking for the gentle ‘twist’ that draws attention to a novel observation.
