i just think we are the only species that is so painfully aware of their existence
that we are chasing every endorphin with a shot of ecstasy
just to feel something
anything
no longer are we sold on the slogan of milk & honey
instead we salivate for the money
the fame, the likes, the power
because we realize that our existence is merely a coincidence of atoms meeting together at the right time
and we are terrified for when it comes
our last moment standing here
that the atoms might combine
at the perfect time of our demise
we are so afraid that if by that point
we had lived for the wrong things
we had not conquered our world
we did not make the right choice
then we lived for nothing
it’s funny, the things we take for granted
our vision blurred, the words that leave our lips, slanted
not realizing the reverence that envelopes
each of us
half-truths and white lights because we are fearful to lay naked for the other soul
before us

The Voyeur's Incandescent Reasoning
The woman sat nonplussed, in the Waiting Room. In a sort of daze, looking straight ahead patiently. She had already had three small breakfast's that morning and a nip of sherry, this was not unusual she would typically wait until an hour after she took her anti-depressant and was her morning routine. She was merely following instructions she assured herself, shifted slightly in her seat and feeling a little heart burn thought, maybe she should skip lunch. Dom had said to have the task done this week. She was well used to his methods and desired to get this over and done with soon. She glanced at her watch, smiled weakly at the Receptionist who was there for a moment and then gone.
