MIDNIGHT'S RAVENS

Let me take you from this violence

To float on stars at lofty heights

Let's embrace in songs of silence

To make sweet love on endless nights

Above a crystal-towered skyline

Where our futures lay in wait

We, two shattered hearted lovers

Will make our plea at heaven's gate

*

For we are the mighty and the fallen

Rising stars dislodged from shame

Like a Phoenix from the ashes

We rose to break addiction’s chains

*

On the path of unfelt kindness

We found our way through senseless fears

Sang the blues to soothe our blindness

Our pain remained in 'roofless' years

*

With the rhythm of our heartbeat

In perfect rhyme, our sonnet sings

Painted words of lonely poets,

Make our earthbound souls sprout wings!

*

Stand by me, eternal lover

We fly o'er mountains hand in glove

On the wings of midnight's ravens

Star clad, aglow like moonlit doves

*
