Metamorphosis

Conceal.

Don’t show.

Don’t let them in,

To your world of pain.

***

Conceal.

Hold still.

Never reveal,

The turmoil within.

***

Conceal.

Like your life depends on it.

The wolves will eat you

If you let your feelings defeat you.

***

Conceal.

Put on that smile.

Enjoy that pain.

As it kills you within.

***

Dead you are born

Conceal?

No more!

What’s there to hide

If you don’t feel the pain

***

No need for masks,

Your face becomes one

Nothing to feel,

Nothing to hide

Nothing to

Conceal.

***

~ End ~

Oh, I love this. I adored, "The wolves will eat you If you let your feelings defeat you." I love your use of the symbolism of butterflies and metamorphosis to emphasize your points in this poem. Beautifully and artistically done. 💗

Sad, but sometimes true. We wear many masks, at some point they become our skin. Sometimes it sucks. Sometimes we lose sight of who we actually are anymore.

    Very nicely done.

  • When there is nothing to hide, our lives but open books within which nothing is written.
