A merry heart that's full of cheer

Can heal the wounds and dry the tear

It brings a smile to faces sad

And makes the troubled heart feel glad

With laughter as its magic potion,

It stirs the soul with lively motion

And lifts the spirit high on wings

To soar above all earthly things

Its power is felt in every breath,

As joy displaces gloom and death,

And fills the heart with youthful zeal

That makes life's sorrows easier to feel

So let us hold this truth so dear,

That merriment is medicine here,

And keep our hearts forever light,

For joy will make our burdens light.
